Can I return an item checked out at one library to a different library?

Books checked out from San Diego Public Library locations can be returned to the Central library or any of our branch locations.
Books checked out from other library systems around San Diego County (i.e. San Diego County Library) that are returned to San Diego Public Library cannot be checked in. These items will be routed to the correct library with a slip indicating the date returned. Items will remain on your account until the owning library receives and checks them in.
