Answer

Library privileges expire every two years. To renew, you need to verify your name and address the next time you visit the library.

Library card holders will be asked to verify their name and address by showing:
   A California Driver's License,
   Identification Card, or
Other official photo ID, such as a passport or Resident Alien Card.

If your identification does not display your current address, the following
forms of address verification are acceptable:
A rent receipt for the current month,
An unopened envelope of a recent piece of mail addressed to you, or
A preprinted check that display your new address.

If you have questions, please contact the library at 619-236-5800.

  2. With few exceptions, San Diego Public Library cards are solely for California State residents. To verify you still qualify for an account, the library needs to verify your address.
